CAGNEY ROBERTS is a Producer, Writer and Archivist working between London, New York and Jamaica. Currently a Senior Producer for the BBC, his diverse body of work spans short-form documentary film, long-form journalism and historical archiving. He focuses on untold black stories, the politics and science of the body and personal histories through a Caribbean lens. Embracing a style he self describes as "distinctively surreal, yet crystalline and queer,"

Projects Cagney has collaborated on have been showcased at prestigious festivals across the UK, Europe and the US, such as the BFI film Festival. International Film Festival Rotterdam and the Third Horizon Festival. As part of his team at the BBC, he has won a Webby for Best Virtual Festival 2023 andVideo Team of the Year 2020, as well as Editorial Team of the Year 2021 at the Drum Online Media Awards.

Beyond his creative pursuits, you can find him exploring the world on his bike, playing records from his vast vinyl collection or reading books in his local green spaces.
